We completely believe that we should protect our precious environment and the health and well-being of our valued clients. Certified organic farming practices improve water quality, save energy, increase biodiversity and contribute to progressive soil health.
It’s important for consumers to know there is a significant difference between Organic and Certified Organic labelled products.
Certified Organic Tea means a strict set of production standards for growing, storage, processing, packaging and shipping that include:
- Zero synthetic chemical inputs (e.g. fertilizer, pesticides, antibiotics, food additives), irradiation and the use of sewage sludge.
- Zero synthetic additives have been used during processing — only natural authorized products are used and only when necessary.
- Zero genetically modified organisms (GMO) are used.
- Can only grow tea on farmland that has been free from prohibited chemical inputs.
- Always maintaining detailed written production and sales records (complete audit trail).
- Undergoing continuous on-site inspections.
To simply state “Organic” on a product because it meets a minimum percentage of organic ingredients is just not enough, as it does not confirm a genuine organic product. Certification is designed to guarantee quality and prevent fraud, and to endorse good commerce. Moreover, using organic ingredients in a facility without monitored controls simply disparages the term organic, as Certified Organic refers to the entire process of manufacturing.
Organic certification is truly "next level" as it lets consumers know that each step along the supply chain has protected and preserved the organic integrity that commences on the farm.
The term Certified Organic guarantees that every single ingredient listed AND all the steps taken along our tea making process have been protected and have preserved the organic integrity of our product - producing a truly natural, safe and completely organic product. To be certified, a company must source its product from farmers and all associated suppliers who meet these conditions in addition to sustaining a certified environment that is frequently monitored, properly managed and continually inspected.
Through purchasing certified products you ensure that organic producers are rewarded for their commitment, and you avoid supporting those who produce organically only when it’s convenient, and you absolutely know your tea has been properly handled, from seed to delicious steep.
